The funder tends to award grants in the same geographic footprint of its business operations within the Appalachian Basin.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International school administrators, mentor teachers, and foreign language exchange teachers for professional development and school projects. Funding is intended for projects that contribute to the enhancement of critical language programs in U.S. schools and further the teaching of English, Arabic, or Mandarin as a Foreign Language in the home countries of the international alumni. In addition, CLPs promote mutual understanding and lasting relationships between program alumni and their U.S. colleagues.

Funding is intended to provide local private and public schools with resources to implement recycling and litter prevention programs and to teach students about the importance of caring for the environment. P.E.A.R. Grants (Promoting Environmental Awareness & Recycling) are available to schools in Clinton County.

Eligible proposal categories include cultural programs, seminars and symposia, research programs, and programs to develop future experts who will promote international understanding of Japan.

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations in multiple states for programs and initiatives to develop local communities. Areas of focus include strengthening small businesses, building career pathways, economic mobility, education, and disaster relief. Eligible applicants are located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington D.C., and West Virginia.

Grants to Ohio businesses and nonprofit organizations for projects to reduce waste in eligible regions. Funding is intended to provide the resources that are required for the development and implementation of a variety of waste reduction and recycling projects and activities. Eligible applicants are located in Clinton County.

Scholarships of $2,500 to USA active military personnel and veterans studying in STEM degree programs for tuition and course-related expenses. Eligible uses of funds include books, fees, equipment, and supplies. Funding is intended to assist second- and third-year students pursuing an undergraduate degree.

Fellowship of $72,000 to a USA, Canada, or International rheumatologist for training in the treatment of lupus. Preference will be given to applicants from Canada. The fellow will participate in research activities, supervise the care and education of patients, and follow patients at an accredited lupus clinic in Ontario.

Environmental projects are also supported in eligible regions of Pennsylvania. Eligible projects will improve the local quality of life or address the impact of human population growth on the environment. Environmental projects must serve the area of Southwestern Pennsylvania, including Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Somerset, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.

Funding is intended to cover transportation, lodging, and other costs for both domestic and international travel. Applicants can apply for travel which is planned for some time in the following year. The Foundation helps writers working with speculative literature, and the grant is awarded on the basis of interest and merit.

Fellowships to USA scientists with a medical degree to support on-site experience in clinical research and trials at a pharmaceutical company. Applicants must contact the funding source prior to applying. The purpose of this program is to provide fellows the opportunity to gain experience in drug research and development, clinical trial design, and data analysis related to oncology. Opportunities for publication and presentation of the research will also be provided.

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International women to participate in a contest for preservation projects related to oceans. The purpose of the contest is to support women's efforts to safeguard the world's coastal ecosystems.
