IT IS A RELATIVELY SMALL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FINANCIAL INSTITUTION (CDFI), BUT IS ALSO THE ONLY FEDERALL CERTIFIED AND STATE ACCREDITED CDFI IN THE NORTHEAST QUADRANT OF PENNSYLVANIA. METROACTION PROVIDES FINANCING AND COUNSELING SERVICES FOR START-UP AND EXPANDING SMALL BUSINESSES IN NORTHEASTERN PENNSYVANIA. IT IS A SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION MICROLENDER AND A UNITES STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE LENDER. THE $100,000 PROGRAM RELATED INVESTMENT WILL HELP TO ADD CAPITAL TO THE MARKET, AND THE $25,000 GRANT WILL ASSIST WITH THE INTENSIVE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE THAT METROACTION PROVIDES TO ALL OF ITS BORROWERS.
